Get in the Loop this October

Loop, a new and meticulously designed music and pool club, launches on 3rd October in Croydon.

On the site of what was once a gritty south London snooker hall, revivalist hero Ryan Bissett is creating a radical new venue. Ryan is the fuel behind the transformed Scala, now one of London’s most successful live music and club venues.

When asked “Why Croydon?” Ryan replied,
”I was asked this question many times before about King’s Cross and Scala, and I know people asked the same about Brixton years ago. I saw the immediate potential of the place, the people in this area deserve a stylish and exclusive place to play pool, dance and socialise.”

This may well be true if you consider the growing trend for young upwardly mobile people to move further from the centre of the capital in search of a better quality of life, and their appetite to transform once-despised 60’s office blocks into cool city centre homes. Croydon already has a higher proportion of younger people than any other London borough increasing the demand for leisure activities in the area. (Talkabout Croydon Surveys)

Matt Lisle, founder of Perverted Science and resident DJ at Loop, certainly agrees with this idea and commented,
"I have been living in Croydon all my life, and it is great to see it develop with venues like Loop. I have been djing around the area since I was a kid and I know lots of people who have been crying out for something like this. It’s something different in every aspect."

With this in mind Ryan has enrolled club promoter Simon Fullerton, creator of music programmes for south London bars such as The Dogstar, Bug Bar, Mass, Living, and the White Horse, to stamp a different musical mark on the Croydon bar strip.

Once complete Ryan and his team plan to bring their successful approach to many more unsuspecting locations across the capital and the UK.
